Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Movie Review

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Movie Review

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the 6th film in the Harry Potter film series.  Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is a fantasy/adventure film directed by David Yates. Daniel Radcliffe starred in the film, alongside Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.

After the Voldemort's return in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, people begin to call Harry "The Chosen One". Harry is stunned when he hears the announcement that Professor Snape is the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Snape's place is filled by Horace Slughorn, whom Harry unknowingly persuades to teach. In a way, this was to Harry's benefit because; Slughorn accepts Harry into the Potions class with a lower score than Snape wanted. So Harry can take the lessons he needs to become a wizard who fights the death eaters. The only profession Harry is considering doing in the future is auror. During Professor Slughorn's class, Harry finds a used potions book in Slughorn's locker, the owner of which is the "Half-Blood Prince". Lttle handwritten notes about the potions in the book allow Harry to make successful potions and earn a small bottle of Felix Felices (luck potion) as a reward. Dumbledore starts giving Harry private lessons. In fact, these lessons are intellectual journeys into memories about Voldemort. Dumbledore estimates that Voldemort divided his soul into 7 pieces and placed them in some objects called Horcruxes in order to become immortal. Two horcruxes were destroyed (Tom Riddle's diary and Marvoldo Gaunt's ring). Meanwhile, through the events that unfold, Harry learns that the Half-Blood Prince is Severus Snape. The third horcrux is a medallion belonging to Salazar Slytherin, and the medallion is hidden in a well-protected cave and is at the bottom of a container filled with a mysterious liquid, and the person who wants to reach the medallion must drink this liquid. Dumbledore drinks the liquid and becomes very weak and tired, eventually giving himself a locket and the R.A.B. They find a short note from someone who says: Harry quickly runs away, taking Dumbledore with him. In order for Dumbledore to recover, Snape must prepare a potion for him. When they arrive at the school, they encounter death eaters who infiltrated the school with the help of Draco Malfoy, and Snape kills Dumbledore and leaves the school with the death eaters.

The subject and event cycle are handled very well in the movie. I also found the effects and editing used in the movie successful. They explained very well that the war that only took place in the magic world in the movie was carried into real life when Snape killed Dumbledore and things became serious. In the movie, they tried to reflect a period in which the main characters transition from childhood to adolescence, but I think these scenes could have been kept a little less, as they overtook other events. The ending of the movie was really effective. It was a great preparation for the next two movies in the series.

As a result, it is one of the best films of the series that you can spend 2 hours and 30 minutes with a beautiful and interesting subject.
